As a Blugold, Stegeman studied at Northern Arizona University for a semester through the National Student Exchange program, an experience he describes as life changing. NSE was the 鈥渂est decision of my college career, and one of the best experiences of my life,鈥 he says.

NSE helped him appreciate the importance of interacting with people whose experiences and viewpoints differ from his own, and it inspired him to consider golf course management as a career.

鈥溙烀来 is giving me the knowledge and skills to pursue my dream, but it鈥檚 also providing connections and experiences that鈥檒l make my transition into life after college smooth,鈥 Stegeman says. 鈥淣SE helped me make connections in Arizona, and people here are helping me build myself into someone who鈥檒l be successful in the future.鈥

鈥淢y professors鈥 knowledge about the subjects they teach is incredible,鈥 Stegeman says. 鈥淎lmost all of them had careers in business before becoming professors, so they bring real world examples to class. They鈥檝e taught me much more than what鈥檚 in the textbook.鈥

Through athletics, Stegeman has found great friends and 鈥渁wesome mentors for track and life.鈥

鈥淢y teammates鈥 dedication to their sport and academics keeps me focused on making myself a better student-athlete every day,鈥 Stegeman says. 鈥淭ime management and discipline are my biggest takeaways.
