This year’s featured speaker is Dr. Lisa Schulte Moore, who will present “Innovations in Sustainable Agriculture and Energy.”

Schulte Moore, an Eau Claire native and 1993 UW-Eau Claire biology graduate, is the Charles F. Curtiss distinguished professor in agricultural and life sciences, associate director of the Bioeconomy Institute and professor of natural resource ecology and management at Iowa State University. In 2021, the MacArthur Foundation recognized Schulte Moore’s creative potential and impact by awarding her a prestigious .

Schulte Moore last visited UW-Eau Claire in 2023 for the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, and she says she in looking forward to sharing her passion and expertise with the campus and Mayo community members.

“I believe people and nature can thrive together — and I’ve seen what’s possible when creative minds from different sectors unite. I’m thrilled to return to my hometown to share our innovations and invite others to imagine what’s next,” Schulte Moore says.

The organizers of the Imagine Lecture Series are also pleased to welcome this renowned scientist and ecology expert to the stage for an event so meaningful to their staff and healthcare community.
